Welcome to Sustainable Self Psychology

Sustainable Self Psychology is a private psychology practice located in Malvern. We provide accessible, high-quality, trauma-informed treatment to the community. SSP proudly works within a framework of core values. We deliver a therapeutic experience based on authenticity, collaboration, safety, respect, shared knowledge, and deep listening, while also being guided by the latest in research and evidence-based psychological treatment.

Who we Are

Our experienced psychologists are committed to providing consistent, client-centred psychological care. We work from a trauma-informed perspective that recognizes mental health symptoms as often being the result of unprocessed psychological trauma. We are focused on assisting people to move beyond symptom management to experience deep healing and personal growth through treating the underlying causes of their psychological distress.

How we Work

We work from a holistic model of mental health care, which understands people in the context of their subjective life experiences. Rather than focusing on diagnostic labels, we ask the question of “what has happened to you” to help our clients make sense of their personal life histories. We use a range of evidence-based approaches, depending on your needs and preferences.

What to Expect

We understand that seeking help for your mental health concerns can be a daunting process. We place high importance on a creating a safe, comfortable, and relaxed environment for our clients, believing that while the counselling process is facilitated by the therapist, it should ultimately be led by the client. We work in collaboration with you to help you reach your therapeutic goals.

"trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness" - Peter Levine
